The dreaded "Blue Screen of Death" !
Windows systems are known for crashing for any
number of reasons and in a number of ways. Sometimes these crashes are minor and can easily be overcome
simply by closing a non responding application or by rebooting the system. However, others are more serious and
can result in the blue screen of death which brings the entire system to its knees.
Microsoft calls these types of crashes "Stop
errors" because the operating system stops responding. When a Stop error occurs, the normal windows screen is
replaced by a DOS-like blue screen with a cryptic error message that is sometimes followed by an error code
number. This screen is commonly referred to as the "Blue Screen Of Death", or BSOD for
short.
A sample Blue Screen of Death

Although Stop errors can be caused by both hardware or software malfunctions, the
most typical cause is a software (most comonly faulty or incorrect drivers) malfunction. Resolving these problems
should stop you receiving the blue screen of death.
In the case of a software malfunction the first thing is to clean the PC's
registry with Registry Easy then optimise the memory
as many BSOD errors can be caused by badley optimised memory. Then once you have the
system running at its optimum run Driver
Robot to ensure you have the best drivers for you system.
In the case of a hardware malfunction the most likely cause is faulty components
like memory, cpu, or cpu fan, but sometimes it may be caused by recently installed hardware. If you have optimised
your PC and the problem still occurs, then remove any recently installed software/hardware (use the
uninstall
section in Registry Easy). Then re-Optimise your PC before
re-installing the software/hardware. Ensure you are using the latest drivers by using Driver
Robot as this program will check that each driver is the latest
one available for your particular piece of hardware without you having to go to every different manufacturers
website.
