Why is my Computer running slow !
You may often find your self frustrated at the speed in which your computer is
running. You may have asked the question Why is my Computer running slow? This article will explain several
simple options that can help you increase the performance of your PC and get the most out of it. I will cover a
number of steps that can be taken such as using Registry Easy to clean your computer
registry and then you should further optimise your PC by following the procedure laid out in Registry Easy which can greatly improve the
performance of your PC and help you run a better system.
First of all you need to know what type of computer you
have.
The simple answer is that your computer might just be getting old and yet
you are trying to run the latest cutting edge operating system. If you are running Windows XP or above then I
would always recommend at least 1Gb RAM with a 1.8GHz processor or greater. Having this amount of RAM and
speed of processor will get you running Windows XP quite nicely. If you are running Vista then bump the RAM up
to 2Gb and the processor in the 2.XGHz range. To check what type of processor and how much RAM you have, right
click on the My Computer icon and then click the "View System Information" under "System Tasks" menu item
(in vista its "Compter" then "System Properties"). When I do this it tells me towards the bottom of the sheet
that I have a Core 2 Duo processor running at 1.8 /1.8 GHz and that I am running with 4 Gb of
RAM. My PC is 2 years old in a couple of months and I am running XP quite smoothly.
So your PC has the power but still you find your computer running
slow !
If you are happy that you have a PC that’s less then 4 years old, has a nice
amount of RAM, a good processor and things are running slow then we now need to check to see what other problems
there may be e.g. software that is clogging up your PC. I have heard many people say it’s best to just format
your PC (wipe is clean) and start again. Ideally this would be great, but in reality it can cause more problems
having to back up your files, restore the PC, restore the files, configure Outlook, set up all your shortcuts
etc… My preferred method is to use Registry
Easy (try it out here) and have it set up as a scheduled services to monitor and clean my PC regularly for
me. This saves me more time as it can even go through the PC looking for junk
software and give it a good clean. It isn’t as complicated as it sounds.
Task List to get a Clean PC
First you need to ensure that you have AND regularly run virus removal
software.
Next you need to use a program like Registry Easy to clean and optimise your
PC.
Next, check to see what programs are installed that you do not want as these
can be the cause of your computer running slow.
Finally check to see what programs are automatically starting up and remove
them by using the startup manager under system tools in Registry Easy.
By running through each of these steps you will be running a far
cleaner and leaner PC. You will no longer need to ask why is my computer running slow. Take
time to ensure that your anti virus and
registry easy are both regularly
updated to ensure that your PC is running at its optimum and then you will not have to ask Why is my computer
running slow!
